St. Moritz is one of the most popular holiday resorts in the world. Chic, exclusive and famous for its cosmopolitan ambiance, it is surrounded by the lakes of the Upper Engadine, 1856 meters above sea level. The sparkling “champagne climate” is legendary. The rich and famous have been meeting up here for 100 years and enjoy the area around St. Moritz with its wonderful climate and the magnificent mountains with an average 322 days of sunshine a year. Itinerary: The journey takes you through the beautiful landscape of Val Venosta, past pretty villages, old castles and fortified buildings of the old Rhaetian nobility on the Swiss border - via Müstair - Santa Maria – Passo del Forno with splendid views across “King Ortles” – through the Swiss National Park and along the Gallo reservoir into the most remote area of Italy, the duty-free zone of Livigno. Continue via the Forcola Pass to the Bernina Pass and on to St. Moritz. Then continue through the Upper Engadine back to Zernez and via the Passo del Forno to Glorenza. With approx. 800 inhabitants, Glorenza is the smallest town in South Tyrol. Return journey through Val Venosta back to Laces.
